A further alternativ is also Gentoo Linux, which depending of its structure can give you the most out of the hardware.

- Pegasos Open Desktop Workstation can be delivered with either IBM 600MHz PPC 750CXe (G3) or Motorola 1GHz PPC 7447 (G4).

Yellow Dog Linux is an RPM-based PowerPC Linux, featuring a unified KDE and GNOME desktop environment featuring shared menus, user interface and applications such as OpenOffice, the Mozilla web browser, and the Mac-On-Linux emulator, among 1300 other packages.

Yellow Dog Linux is soon to also be an alternative for your Pegasos.
