- The Pegasos II platform is a flexible PowerPC based mainboard with swappable CPU card. It can easely been adapted to different configurations from thin client - workstation - server.

- Pegasos II is delivered with Motorola 1GHz PPC 7447 (G4) CPU.

- Pegasos II uses components and peripherals directed at the standard PC market and the platform is supported of several different operating systems.

- All systems built by GGS-Data is delivered with complete MorphOS + Ubuntu Linux installations.

- We can also make adaptation of the installations for your needs.

Operating System for Pegasos II
The best hardware in the world is useless without software to run on it. With this in mind, several operating systems have been ported or are being ported to the Pegasos. These range from embedded real-time operating systems to network server operating systems, giving you the option to pick and choose the operating system that suits you best.
MorphOS

Putting back the fun into computing is MorphOS, a powerful yet light weight Operating System built for the PowerPC CPU inside the Pegasos II. MorphOS is built for the user, it is simple to use so you don't need hours of training or need to remember complex commands, it features super fast responsiveness so you don't have to wait and is fully configurable and skinnable allowing you to change it to look and feel any way you want. With MorphOS you are the master!

MorphOS has an active user and developer community with plenty of software in development. It also includes a fast JIT emulator so you can run many of the titles from the classic Commodore Axx00 series of computers.

Linux

GNU/Linux is a free operating system originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers around the world. Developed under the GNU General Public License , the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone. Thanks to it's open development model, it has undergone continuous improvements over the years, and is now found in devices ranging from web servers to PDA's.

The Pegasos II ships with the robust Ubuntu GNU/Linux based distribution. By including the innovative package manager, apt, Ubuntu has thousands of software packages available for download and easy installation.
